On January 17, 2026, the Petitioner Cristian Edgardo Lima Guillen filed a petition for writ of habeas corpus, demanding that he be released from federal custody. On January 18, 2026, the Respondents filed a response, representing that Mr. Lima Guillen had been released from federal custody at 1:00 a.m. on January 18, 2026 at the Big Stop in Houlton, Maine where he had asked to be released to be picked up by his girlfriend. (ECF No. 6 ). As the Respondents are representing that they have released the Petitioner, the Court ORDERS the Petitioner to SHOW CAUSE as soon as possible and no later than two days from the date of this order as to why the pending petition should not be dismissed.
