EO: On January 15, 2026, the Court received a Petition for a Writ of Habeas Corpus ("Petition") filed under 28 U.S.C. § 2243, seeking inter alia "immediate release [of Petitioner], or, at minimum, a prompt custody redetermination (bond hearing) before an immigration judge." ECF No. 1 at PageID.8. Petitioner's counsel is hereby DIRECTED to: (1) serve Respondents, no later than close of business January 16, 2026, with a copy of the Petition and all accompanying papers, along with a copy of this Entering Order, by overnight mail and by e-mail to all appropriate recipients, including the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Hawaii; and (2) immediately file proof of such service. Counsel for Respondents shall promptly enter notices of appearance in this case. EO: On January 15, 2026, the Court issued an Entering Order directing Petitioner's counsel to serve Respondents with a copy of the Petition no later than close of business January 16, 2026, and, thereafter, file proof of such service. ECF No. 5. In that Entering Order, the Court also set a status conference for January 20, 2026, at 3:00 PM. Id. Petitioner's counsel failed to appear for the scheduled status conference, and to date, no proof of service has been filed. Hence, the Court again ORDERS Petitioner's counsel to do the following: (1) serve Respondents with a copy of the Petition and all accompanying papers, along with a copy of this Entering Order, by overnight mail and by e-mail to all appropriate recipients, including the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Hawaii, and counsel must do so no later than close of business January 22, 2026; and (2) immediately file proof of such service.
