MINUTE ORDER IN CHAMBERS of the Honorable Judge Cristina D. Silva on 2/13/2026. On January 21, 2026, I issued an order appointing counsel and directing service of Jhoan Yesid Torres Gonzalez's petition for writ of habeas corpus. ECF No. 3 . Therein, the Federal Public Defender (FPD) for the District of Nevada was appointed to represent Torres Gonzalez and was directed to file a notice of appearance (or indicate its inability to represent the petitioner) by January 29, 2026. Id. To date, the FPD has not responded. Accordingly, the deadline for the FPD to file a notice of appearance (or indicate its inability to represent the petitioner) is extended to February 20, 2026. It is further ordered that if the FPD files a notice of appearance in this matter, it will then have 14 days to file an amended petition (or to indicate that an amended petition is unnecessary).
